Sophie is ready for Spring!

Oh my it has been a looooong time since my last post! I've been so busy juggling the roles of the many different hats I wear in my life that I have sadly neglected this blog. Bound and determined to get back into it. So for this happy Sunday morning, I want to share a photo to show how much my little girl has grown up! Sophie is now 10 months old. She is crawling, walking along furniture and into absolutely everything! She is such a joy and brings so much happiness to our lives. Love her so much...

Strength of my LOVE for you sign...

Just finished this beautiful sign for my new baby girls room and it turned out just beautiful! As I've had so many friends ask me to make one for them, I am now taking custom orders for this sign. Made of reclaimed barnwood, painted white and hand distressed. Each letter is hand painted in black and the word LOVE can be a custom color. Measures approx 32"L x 15"H. As these are made to order, each one will vary slightly. $60 plus shipping.

Email me for details on how to order this beautiful sign...

Fave Friday Finds

I am smitten with these bottled garden stakes made from re-purposed materials. Beautiful and functional as bud vases or holding slim tapers displayed near the porch or in the garden. Also would add the perfect amount of charm to an outdoor wedding or summer gathering.

Sweet Words to a Mother's Heart

There are moments that occur with a Mother and her children that she wants to engrave in her memory forever... I had one of those Mom moments this week with my sweet Saylee.

Saylee wasn't feeling the best a couple mornings ago so I told her I would bring her some medicine and lunch to school at lunchtime. Had a great lunch and went on the playground afterwards so she could show me some things she could do on the monkey bars... When I told her I had to leave she hugged and hugged me and kept giving me kisses and said I'm going to miss you so much. When you go to your car look back for me b/c I will be waving to you. So when I got to my car I turn around and she was there against the fence waving and blowing me kisses. She kept waving until she saw the car driving out of sight...

It's been awhile and I do apologize. Life took a lot of turns there for awhile. Moving a couple times, redirection of a business, working on launching a second business and now expecting another little girl and moving one final time. Whew... But I am back and you can expect daily posts with great design ideas, quotes, recipes and updates of on my girls.

Quote of the Week

This weeks quote goes out to my wonderful Grandmother who after 79 years and a good life passed away this morning. She was an amazing woman who would do anything for anyone, loved God and valued her family above all else. I thought this quote was fitting...
You will forever be in our hearts. Love you Grandma.

Summer Retreats

Following a much needed getaway of pure bliss at a rustic retreat on a lake up north this past weekend, I was inspired to share the photos of these great summer cabins. Villa Else in Denmark is the perfect blend of simplicity and rustic with pops of fun color mixed in. The great room with all those windows and wide open ceilings is fabulous. I long for such a place to eat breakfast and enjoy my morning coffee... I originally discovered and read about Villa Else a few days ago on my friend Megan's fabulous blog Beach Bungalow 8.

Villa Else was stylized by Katrine Martensen-Larsen of KML Design along with all the other beautiful getaways in this blog post. Below are photos of the summer retreat fondly named 'between the sky and the sea'. I love how it's perched upon the rocks right at the edge of the sea. The interiors have an airy relaxed quality to them and make me want to curl up on the daybed and take an afternoon nap.

I also really enjoyed 'the coastal path'. Loving the crisp white interiors and the way the living area seems to effortlessly flow into the outdoors.

But my absolute favorite is the blissful hideaway of Danish clothing and jewellery designer Marlene Juhl Jørgensen, in the picturesque village of Tisvilde. Loving the juxtaposition of materials in the interior. Painted and unfinished wood, sparkling crystal and raw metal.

Whew. That was a lot of photos. My apologies, I couldn't narrow them down...

xoxo,
Jen
